City Basketball Courts
Built in 1996, the city courts are located in the center of town on E. Cummings Street.

City Tennis Courts
Two courts built in 1995 are open for public use until 10:00 p.m. daily.  E. Pomelo Street next door to City Hall. Private lessons offered, call for more information 291-5270.

Echo Terrace Park
Basketball courts, playground, picnic tables and grills.

Frank C. Gardner Park
Used for community events such as craft fairs, and the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, the park includes shuffleboard courts.

Lions Park
A swimming beach on Lake Alfred with life guards in season, water slide, picnic pavilion, grills, baseball fields, playground, boat ramp, volleyball horseshoes, concession stand, restrooms. Lions Park is often the site of major boat and jet ski races.

Highlands Community Center
A community building used for civic events, available by rental for private functions. Basketball courts are located on site.

Lake Rochelle Park
Includes picnic facilities, boat ramp.

Lake Echo Boat Ramp
City boat ramp located at end of S. Winona Avenue, on the north shore of the lake.

Lake Haines Boat Ramp
Located at end of East Haines Blvd.

Lake Swoope Park
Picnic Pavilion, grills, fishing pier, playground, restrooms.

Twin Lakes Park
Includes picnic facilities, a fishing pier, and boat ramp. Pavilion is available for weddings and special events. Contact the City Clerk's Office at 291-5747 for rental information.

Mackay Gardens and Lakeside Preserve

The City's own nature preserve of 112+ acres on the north shores of Lake Rochelle. Home of the historic Mackay Estate residence and will be available for weddings and special events once restoration is complete. Gardens will include nature trails, playground, fishing pier and canoe launch area. Volunteers are currently planning efforts to restore the gardens and prepare the preserve for public use. MacKay Gardens and Lakeside Preserve - there is no rental fee at this time due to the restoration of the house and grounds.  The Gardens restoration should be completed around the Spring of 2009.

 

There is a $100.00 security deposit for the rental of the Highland Community Center and the Twin Lakes Gazebo.  To check for availability please call the City Clerk's office at (863) 291-5747.  All reservations and/or payments must be submitted in advance but no later than one week prior to the day of the event.
