Hello, Lake Alfred Neighbors,
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, I've witnessed various ways of life. And while I always wanted to live and work downtown, I didn't know it would happen in Lake Alfred, Florida! I dreamed of working in construction and traveling the world, but I ended up studying engineering and working in multiple positions, allowing me to travel to Germany and Amsterdam.
My first major move was from Chicago to work for General Motors in Lordstown, Ohio. Then, I purchased my first condo in Canfield, Ohio, in January 2000. With this move, I learned a lot about adulting after college, as budgeting had to be done. However, this adjustment was easy since I was my only dependent! I met my wonderful soul mate and wife, Amy, in Columbus, Ohio, after accepting a promotion in Mansfield, Ohio. We have raised five kids together through some of the most challenging times, but God has been with us.
After various jobs and career changes, I quickly learned I wanted to be self-employed and go for it BIG. In 2017, I became licensed as an insurance broker and continue to add states to help even more people and recruit agents.
By the time COVID came, our home in Upper Arlington, OH, had doubled in value from what we had initially paid, so we took a leap of faith and put it on the market. It sold in two days. We visited Florida during Spring Break 2021 and looked for homes in Tampa, Clearwater, and Riverview, where we lost a bidding war to 12 offers! Our realtor told us about a great house in Lake Alfred, Florida, that would suit everyone. We were like, Lake Who?
That is how we arrived here in Lake Alfred, where I love it, and my family is also slowly starting to! I look forward to connecting with the community and helping the city achieve its goals and dreams. Feel free to stop by my office anytime to chat.
