The Southwest Florida Water Management District has declared a Modified Phase II Severe Water Shortage due to dry conditions throughout the region. Polk County is one of several counties that must follow a one-day-per-week watering schedule. Lawn watering is limited to once per week from February 8, 2026, through July 1, 2026, regardless of the water source.
- Properties two acres or smaller may water only before 8 a.m. or after 6 p.m.
- Properties larger than two acres may only water before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
